Who's going to Solo National's in Vancouver?

Postby DoctorDave » Thu Feb 16, 2017 8:13 pm

I have my holidays booked! I just wondering if anyone else is planning on going.

What hotel are you booked at? I might as well stay at the same place.

I am staying at the Kamloops Best Western on Thursday and Sunday Night and at the Ramada in Pitt Meadows. It is by far the closest hotel to the airport. It is pretty nice, except at the last Nationals my truck got broken into (actually broke the passenger window) so I am super paranoid with where I park now. You can usually leave your trailer at the airport for the whole weekend and it feels pretty safe there. There are usually a few people that will camp on site.

Thanks, I booked a room at the Pitt Meadow's Ramada for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and at the Holiday Inn in Kamloops on the Sunday (it's not far from Best Western). Let's hope the security is better!

I was going to, but then I didn't want to drive the Civic there and back...
Then I changed my mind again and was going to try to bum a co-drive there, but work hit me in the head *hard* so I am definitely going to miss it...

Nobody is more sad than I am right now...

Thanks Guys. This was definitely my most successful Canadians yet. I was in 14th place at the end of Day 1. Things really came together on Day 2. I ended up 4th overall for Day 2 which moved me up to 6th when combined with Day 1. It really makes me consider keeping the GTR and prepping it further for SM. It is just so much work dealing with Hoosiers and trailers etc, compared to an easy street classed car.

The courses were very fun, but the heat was absolutely killer.

Here's some Videos of my fastest runs.

Murray is fast in that new car. Stock, it is as fast or faster than STX cars. Or maybe it's Murray.

Let's blame it on the car, since my driving wasn't exactly stellar that weekend.

The courses were all power courses -- take a look at the FS times to get an idea of how much. Basically, a series of offsets followed by a tight(ish) u-turn, followed by more offsets. If you had the horsepower to get back up to speed, then you were golden.
