Postby TheBigF » Thu Apr 20, 2017 1:52 pm

As in the '2017 Schedule' thread and on the website, the 2017 Lapping dates are:

Jul 02 (Sun evening) Lapping 1 Castrol Raceway West road course, Registration opens at 4:00PM, closes at 5:00 PM sharp
Jul 30 (Sun evening) Lapping 2 Castrol Raceway West road course, Registration opens at 4:00PM, closes at 5:00 PM sharp
Sep 17 (Sun evening) Lapping 3 Castrol Raceway West road course, Registration opens at 4:00PM, closes at 5:00 PM sharp

This year we will have a dedicated ambulance and crew onsite during the lapping events.

Were there four lapping events last year?

Similar, yes. We may up it very slightly as we have to have an ambulance crew there full time. It adds cost.

There were four dates last year. We planned four for this year as well but cut one due to the ambulance crew costs. What we would have paid for track time is being spent on the three other dates ambulance.

Sorry it's not spread out a bit more. We had a May date but cut it. It'll be warmer in July anyway...

I was wondering if it could be posted what layout will be used for the lapping sessions. Last year we used the west course one time, and the other times the course over between the straight aways was used. I'd like to get out with my B-Mod formula car, but I'd have to take the cross-over between the straight aways so slow I'd be a hazard to everyone else. But if we're ever just running the west course I'll be out for sure. Thanks.

Last year we ran the "actual" west course once because the drifters were on the east end and we needed the straights to pit. 99% of the time we use the turnaround on the straight. Keep an eye on specD's schedule, if they're running the same time as us we'll likely not be using the turnaround on the straights.

Are the lapping days costs subsidized somehow? Otherwise, wouldn't each event pay for itself with the buy-in?
